NWI Dining (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the website nwidining.com and the restaurant-owner portal at portal.nwidining.com (together, the “Services”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the Services you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you provide: your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a form; your name, email, password, business details, and listing content when you create a restaurant-owner or diner account; messages you send us; and order, reservation, waitlist, or review details you submit.
Payment information: when you purchase a subscription or place an order, payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processors (such as Stripe, Square, or Authorize.net) and/or the restaurant’s own payment account. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Restaurant information: we compile business listings (name, address, hours, phone, website, category, photos, and ratings) from public sources, including data and imagery sourced from Google. Such third-party content remains subject to the rights of its owners; restaurant owners may claim and correct their listing or request removal (see “Your choices”).
Automatically collected information: IP address, browser/device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar analytics data, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Notice). We use a first-party analytics tracker and may use third-party analytics (e.g., Clicky).
How we use information
Operate, maintain, and improve the Services and the directory.
Create and manage accounts; authenticate users; provide owner tools (reservations, ordering, menus, mini-sites, etc.).
Process subscriptions, orders, and payments; prevent fraud and abuse.
Send transactional messages and, with your consent where required, newsletters and marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with: service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, analytics, payment processing); restaurants you transact with (e.g., when you place an order or reservation); and authorities when required by law. Business-listing information is, by nature, displayed publicly in the directory.
Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, preferences, and analytics. See our Cookie Notice for details and choices.
Data retention & security
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls), but no method is 100% secure.
Your choices & rights
Account: you can review and update your account information, or request deletion, by contacting us.
Marketing: unsubscribe via the link in any newsletter.
Listing corrections/removal: restaurant owners may claim a listing to edit it, or request correction or removal.
U.S. state privacy rights (e.g., California/CCPA-CPRA): you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or opt out of certain processing. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law. To exercise rights, contact us using the details below.
Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy; we will revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
This document is a starting template and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before publication, particularly regarding the display of third-party (Google) business data and imagery, payment processing disclosures, and applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
